The purpose of this blog is simple. Our 10-minute film, that took 3 years to make, is beginning to screen at film festivals around the world and everyone involved in the making is very interested in hearing back from the audience.
As writer and director of One Rat Short I set out to make a CG film that looked and felt our own. I wanted to create a dark gritty world with Film Noir undertones and an alternate universe that was sterile and white. I didn’t want to create brightly colored characters that acted and spoke like humans because that’s just not me. I wanted the challenge of telling a good story without using anthropomorphic animation. Although I enjoy laughing as much as anybody, I wanted to make an animated film that touched the human heart in a bittersweet way.
